This site is the next step in building the economic profile of Chatham-Kent through the arts and culture community. Our desire is that www.artsandculture.ca becomes the online hub for answering C-K's arts, heritage and culture related questions, such as: "What should we do on Friday?" "Who will work on this project with me?" and "Is there a place I can offer my talents and build my portfolio?".
Word spreads fast in Chatham-Kent. At the first annual Ignite Chatham-Kent on Thursday, October 13th, a large crowd gathered inside the Retro Suites Hotel to hear speeches on several topics ranging from the war of 1812 to Financial Literacy.
The Canadian Haunting and Paranormal Society (CHAPS) recently visited the Cultural Centre for the express purpose of recording EVPs (electronic voice phenomena) and other forms of proof of paranormal existence. The footage from their investigation will be revealed the night of Beyond Belief: The Paranormal in Chatham-Kent.
If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes him."
